Machine Learning Quasinormal Modes

Quasinormal modes are damped oscillations eigenmodes of black hole spacetimes. They are supposed to describe the late time behavior of of black hole merger events. The complex quasinomal frequencies are extremely sensitive to environmental effects such as small changes in the effective gravitational potential. We investigate if and how this potential can be reconstructed my machine learning techniques from knowledge of a few low lying quasinormal frequencies.
